My hunt for the best gelato in Europe. On the way there should be interesting people, places, and my studies, of course.

End of Travel, Rome, Pronto

Today was the end of our extensive travels, and the start of a whole new chapter in our program.

Goodbye Paestum!

Our first night in our new apartment in Rome. We are separated into 4 apartments, 2 with 9 people each, one with 8 people, and one with 4 people. There are 9 in mine (Alex, Adam, John, Trevor, Amy, Lindsey, Lyndsey, Mary, and myself). We were supposed to be in this American-dorm style building full with 140 other American students, including the rest of our classmates, but the apartment we were supposed to move into had an enormous flood 2 days before our arrival, and everything was destroyed. So, to accommodate us, they put us in a different, residential building very close to the other apartments. So, for our first night, we all really needed to do laundry, we had been washing our clothes in sinks for about 4 weeks at this point. Amy was up first, she put her laundry in, and by accident the washing machine (which is in our kitchen), was opened- thinking the laundry was done, and all the water, and clothes and underwear dumped out, flooding the kitchen floor. Lindsey and I earlier that day happened to flood the bathroom in Paestum. We are surrounded by flooding issues.

Alex mopping up the mess.

Welcome to Rome...
