My hunt for the best gelato in Europe. On the way there should be interesting people, places, and my studies, of course.

Capitolini and Trajan Market

Welcome to Rome, The Eternal City.

Beatrice explains the basics of our living situation to us. Then goes into the history of the Capitolini, and Roman Basics 101.

You are this tiny spec of dust...here on the map

From the Musei Capitolini (Capitoline Museum), we could see the Foro Romano (The Roman Forum)

The original statue of Marcus Aurelius that was in the Capitolini Piazza, now there is a copy of it.

Lindsey is my scale model in front of this HUGE statue in the Musei Capiolini courtyard

Venere Capitolina or Capitoline Venus; here, flying solo in a room with an octagonal dome.

Then, onto Trajan's Market. Here, a place to sell goods, a public arena, places to live and work, well at least, back in the day. Now it holds a museum of artifacts from the site. Beatrice was telling us about how it used to hold modern art installations, but not anymore.

Trajan's Market from where I decided to sketch

Limbo in the market? Sure, why not.

Since it was Friday, and the start of our first official weekend of free time, we grabbed to opportunity and went out to a discotecha after a party in the other 9 person apartment.
