My hunt for the best gelato in Europe. On the way there should be interesting people, places, and my studies, of course.

Tuesday in Rome, What's new?

So, we've been living here for a while now. We go to school, eat, sleep, study, ya know, the norm. It just so happens to be in another country. Our days now are less about traveling and exploration, and more about just producing the work for the sake of Architecture. Our everyday life is something like this:

A view from the Iowa State studio space (we use their studio space for a month or so) in the Jewish Ghetto. The green door is the entrance into the building from this courtyard. The fountain used to be in a different piazza, about 100 yds. away, and was moved here. Notice all the scooters and Vespas around the fountain? That is just a sampling of them...they invade every part of the city. Ridiculous.

Working in the studio space. You can always tell where I am working because of the bright pink backpack. When looking through everybody's photos of the trip, you can always find me easily because of the pink backpack.

The Library.
Full of art, architecture, landscape architecture, art history, design, and urban planning books. Just like the one back at Knowlton, but much smaller.

We take the trams and buses to get around the city (one month pass = €30)
Here, we are on our way to Italian class. It would take at least an hour and a half to walk to class from our apartment, if you were in a hurry. however, with the Tram + Bus, it takes about a half hour.

More gelato. We like to get gelato before Italian class on Tuesdays and Thursdays because gelato is good for the soul, and we need a little soul lovin' before Italian, which hurts our brains...a lot.

Una gelato, per favore? Vorrei piccolo, in cono con pistaccio e ananans e mango! Quanto costa? Due euro? Grazie! Ciao!
